Part One: Understanding Behavior
Course Description
The two-part course Management of Disruptive Behavior trains care givers in the appropriate techniques to use to prevent disruptive behaviors, and how to use appropriate defensive techniques to use to avoid injury to self, the aggressor, or anyone else in the immediate area. In Part One, trainees learn how to observe the person, how to anticipate situations – called triggers – that can lead to disruptive behavior, and what to do as soon as the person becomes upset. Trainees learn how to use calming techniques – called descalation – to help an upset person calm down and regain self control.
Credit Hours
This course has been approved by The National Association of Social Workers and National Board of Certified Counselors.for 3 Continuing Education Hours. (CEH 3)
